Hybrid ABA Therapy · Mesa, AZ

Hybrid ABA therapy: centered in Mesa, connected to home

Our hybrid option combines one-on-one therapy at our Mesa center with clinically appropriate in-home support — so the skills your child builds with us show up where they matter most. What that looks like is shaped with your BCBA, around your child.

What Is Hybrid ABA Therapy at Inspire?

Hybrid ABA combines one-on-one therapy at our Mesa center with clinically appropriate in-home support. Your child follows one individualized treatment plan designed and supervised by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst and implemented by a Registered Behavior Technician.

Center-based sessions provide a structured environment for learning, play, communication, movement, and peer interaction. In-home sessions allow selected goals to be practiced within familiar routines such as meals, hygiene, play, and transitions.

Your family and BCBA will determine whether hybrid therapy is appropriate and how services should be divided based on your child’s assessment, treatment goals, insurance authorization, staffing, and availability. The Mesa center remains the primary setting for therapy, with in-home support included when clinically appropriate.

How It's Decided

A Hybrid Plan Shaped With Your BCBA

Your BCBA and your family shape the model together, and these are the things that guide it:
  • Your child's comprehensive BCBA assessment
  • The treatment goals the plan targets
  • Your family's needs and daily routines
  • Insurance authorization
  • Staffing
  • Current availability

Said plainly —

Therapy is centered at our Mesa clinic, and in-home support is included when your child’s plan calls for it. So you know exactly what to expect: Inspire does not offer fully in-home ABA as a standalone service, and hybrid does not mean an RBT travels to your home for every session.

What hybrid therapy includes

  • One-on-one sessions with a dedicated RBT, designed and supervised by a BCBA.
  • Center-based therapy that can extend clinically appropriate support across settings.
  • Selected goals practiced within real daily routines — like mealtime, play, and hygiene — when the treatment plan calls for it.
  • Caregivers may observe or participate in sessions when appropriate, and receive an end-of-day update from the RBT.
  • Scheduled parent-training opportunities with the BCBA for individualized strategies and recommendations.
  • One individualized treatment plan that follows your child across settings.

Benefits of a hybrid model

  • Familiar home routines can become practice opportunities for selected goals.
  • Caregivers stay closely involved with guidance and support from the clinical team.
  • Focus on functional skills that directly impact daily living.
  • Flexibility for families balancing busy schedules.

Hybrid starts from the center — see what an in-center day looks like.

Where Home Fits In

Familiar routines can become practice opportunities

When your child's plan includes in-home support, moments like these become practice opportunities — chosen for your child by your BCBA.

Mealtimes

When mealtime goals are part of the plan, communication can be practiced right at the table, and mealtime routines broken into small, teachable steps.

Getting ready

Dressing, hygiene and toileting routines can be broken into small, teachable steps — often with visual sequences — and practiced right where they happen every morning.

Play & downtime

Play is where communication and turn-taking grow. Structured and play-based teaching builds learning into the toys and games your child already enjoys.

Transitions

Moving between activities is a skill of its own. Plans can use transition warnings, visual schedules and timers to make changes at home more predictable.

Skills are generalized across the center and home — and families may receive support for practicing them in community routines, too. How generalization works in ABA

Who Does What

Your team — and how you'll stay in the loop

Your RBT

Registered Behavior Technician

Delivers every one-on-one session and records progress data. At pickup, your RBT walks you through an end-of-day update and sheet — meals, toileting, the activities and skills addressed, and any notes worth knowing. What an RBT does

Your BCBA

Board Certified Behavior Analyst

Licensed in Arizona. Assesses your child, designs the treatment plan, reviews the data, and provides ongoing clinical supervision — and formal parent training, with individualized strategies and recommendations, is scheduled with and provided by your BCBA.

You

Parent / Caregiver

You may observe or participate in sessions when appropriate, and your family’s priorities help choose the goals. You’re a valued partner, while the clinical team remains responsible for designing and overseeing treatment.

Your BCBA designs, supervises, and regularly reviews the program, while RBTs provide one-on-one daily support.

Answers

Hybrid ABA — the questions families ask first

Straight answers about how the hybrid model works. Anything specific to your child is a conversation with the team.
What is hybrid ABA therapy?

At Inspire, hybrid ABA combines one-on-one therapy at our Mesa center with clinically appropriate in-home support. Your child receives one-on-one sessions with a Registered Behavior Technician, following one individualized treatment plan designed and supervised by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst — and when the plan calls for it, selected goals are practiced within real daily routines like mealtime, play, and hygiene.

Does hybrid mean an RBT comes to our house for every session?

The Mesa center remains the primary setting for therapy, with in-home support included when clinically appropriate — so a technician does not travel to you for every session. Your family and BCBA determine whether hybrid therapy is appropriate and how services should be divided, based on your child's assessment, treatment goals, insurance authorization, staffing, and availability. Inspire does not offer fully in-home ABA as a standalone service.

How are parents involved and kept informed?

Caregivers may observe or participate in sessions when appropriate. At the end of each day, your RBT provides an update and an end-of-day sheet covering meals, toileting, the activities and skills addressed, and any relevant notes. Formal parent training — individualized strategies and clinical recommendations — is scheduled with and provided by your BCBA, who may also offer recommendations and caregiver support at the initial assessment, at reassessments, and throughout ongoing therapy.

Who supervises a hybrid program?

A Board Certified Behavior Analyst licensed in Arizona designs, supervises, and regularly reviews the program, updating goals as your child grows, while Registered Behavior Technicians provide one-on-one daily support. RBTs implement the plan; they do not design treatment plans.
